Since our beginnings in 2016 as a mobile tailoring service on the Gold Coast, our goal has always been to create custom suits and garments that look exceptional, fit perfectly, and are crafted from the world’s finest fabric mills — all while offering outstanding value.
Weyridges’ success is built on a deep understanding of classic tailoring principles, seamlessly combined with modern design, innovative technology, and personalised service. This balance allows us to deliver custom clothing that is both timeless and contemporary, tailored to each individual client.
Come 2018, founder Michael Hughes had revised the business name several times before deciding on Weyridges. Hughes & Co, Weybridges were several considerations at the time. While building a solid client base, Michael was also searching for driven passionate people to join the Team.
Covid 19 was a challenging time for everyone and we were not excluded. Wearing custom suits was not high on the agenda during this time, where some businesses were able to pivot into something essential. Michael set the business aside for a time and focused on his family.
In the years following the pandemic, Australia and the world began to rebuild and regain momentum. As businesses reopened and professionals returned to the office, Weyridges entered a new phase of growth.
During this period, we focused on reconnecting with our community, rebuilding our client base, and establishing a strong presence in a changing market — laying the foundation for the continued success of Weyridges Tailoring House.
In 2024, Weyridges entered a period of strong momentum, marked by rapid growth and the continued development of lasting client relationships. During this time, we welcomed Juan Gonzalaes as our Business Development Manager, whose leadership and strategic input played a key role in strengthening our systems and driving sustainable growth.
This year also saw the introduction of our Made to Order suiting range, expanding our offering and giving clients greater flexibility without compromising on quality.
As a dedicated tailoring house, Weyridges proudly delivered tailor-made suits across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and the Sunshine Coast, while continuing to specialise in wedding tailoring through our partnership with Tweed Coast Weddings
In 2025, we proudly opened our first Weyridges Boutique in New Farm, Brisbane, located at Shop 2/544 Brunswick Street. Establishing a dedicated Brisbane space had long been part of our vision, and bringing it to life marked a major milestone for our brand.
This boutique allows us to serve business professionals and wedding clients alike with a personalised, premium tailoring experience — helping every client look and feel their best for life’s most important moments.
In 2026, Weyridges continues to grow as Brisbane’s trusted destination for wedding tailoring. With a stronger focus on grooms and wedding parties, we have refined our personalised fitting experience to make every journey seamless and stress-free.
This year also marks the expansion of our Suit Hire Collection, offering stylish, professionally fitted options for groomsmen and guests seeking premium quality at an accessible price.
As we move forward, our commitment remains the same — exceptional craftsmanship, personalised service and timeless style for every wedding.
