Personal Custom Tailoring

A suit designed around you, not a standard size.

Custom tailoring begins with the person wearing the garment. Your proportions, posture, lifestyle and personal preferences all influence how a suit should be shaped.

At Weyridges, your consultation starts with understanding what you are dressing for and how you want your clothes to feel. From there, your stylist guides you through fabric, construction and design before taking detailed measurements.

The result is a garment created specifically for you rather than an off-the-rack suit altered to approximate your shape.

The Weyridges Experience

Your custom suit journey.

From the first conversation through to collection, each stage is designed to produce a garment that works for your body, wardrobe and individual style.

01 · CONSULTATION

Understand the purpose.

We discuss where the garment will be worn, how you prefer your clothes to fit and the overall style you want to achieve.

02 · FABRIC

Select your cloth.

Explore fabrics suited to your climate, occasion, wardrobe and preferred level of structure.

03 · DESIGN

Make it personal.

Choose lapels, pockets, buttons, lining, vents, trouser styling and personal finishing details.

04 · MEASUREMENT

Establish your proportions.

Detailed measurements and posture observations help establish the balance, length and shape of your garment.

05 · FINAL FITTING

Refine the garment.

Your completed garment is assessed on the body and any final adjustments are identified.

06 · COLLECTION

Ready to wear.

Once the fit has been finalised, your finished garment is ready to become part of your wardrobe.

Fit Starts With The Body

Your measurements tell only part of the story.

Two people with similar chest and waist measurements can require very different garments.

Shoulder position, posture, body balance, jacket length, trouser rise and the relationship between each measurement all affect how a finished suit sits.

That is why the Weyridges fitting process considers your individual proportions rather than simply selecting the closest standard size.

Choosing Your Tailoring

Custom made, made-to-measure or made to order?

Not every client needs the same level of personalisation. Weyridges offers different approaches depending on your wardrobe, budget, fit requirements and occasion.

The details are yours.

Your stylist will help you make design choices that work together rather than simply adding custom details for the sake of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Custom Made Suit FAQs

What to know before starting your custom garment.

What is a custom made suit?

A custom made suit is created around your individual measurements, proportions, style preferences and chosen fabric rather than simply being selected from a predetermined retail size. Your stylist also works with you to select design details such as lapels, buttons, lining and pockets.

How long does a Weyridges custom suit take?

Weyridges custom production is generally around four to five weeks. For weddings and important events, we recommend allowing additional time for consultation, production and the final fitting.

How much does a custom made suit cost?

Pricing varies depending on the garment, fabric and construction selected. Current suit, trouser, shirt and other garment pricing is available on our pricing page .

Can I choose the fabric for my custom suit?

Yes. Fabric selection is a central part of your consultation. Your stylist can help you choose an appropriate colour, pattern, fibre and weight based on the climate, occasion and how frequently the garment will be worn.

What details can I customise?

Depending on the garment, options can include fabric, lapel style and width, buttons, pockets, lining, jacket vents, trouser styling, monogramming and other finishing details.

Does Weyridges make custom wedding suits?

Yes. Wedding tailoring is a major Weyridges service. We create individual groom suits and tuxedos and can also help coordinate the wider wedding party. Visit our wedding suits page for more information.

Does Weyridges make custom business suits?

What happens if my custom suit needs adjusting?

Your completed garment is assessed during your final try-on. Minor adjustments covered by the Weyridges Perfect Fit Guarantee are complimentary, while major fit corrections may result in a remake in accordance with the guarantee terms.

What is the difference between made to order and custom made?

Made to order provides a more cost-effective route into tailoring by working from a refined base pattern. Custom tailoring provides greater flexibility around measurements, fit, fabric and individual design. You can explore the alternative on our made to order page .
